Canva 101: Intro to Canva for Coaches & Solopreneurs
Canva is a must-have tool for coaches and solopreneurs who want to try DIY graphic design. This post will show you some of Canva’s features and templates so you can see how easy it is to use, including tips to save time and simplify your design process.
Canva Hacks to Simplify Your DIY Designs
1. The Canva Brand Kit
Use this feature to add your brand colors so you don’t have to add them every time you create a new design. You can add up to 3 brand colors for free before you’re prompted to upgrade to Canva Pro*.
Once you do upgrade Canva Pro, you can add your brand fonts and customize them for headers, subheaders and paragraphs. You can also upload any fonts that aren’t included in the Canva library.
2. Canva Templates
Simplify your design process by using a Canva template. Here are some of my favorite categories:
- Instagram posts
- Instagram stories
- Pinterest pins
- YouTube thumbnails
- Facebook posts
- Facebook cover images
- Lead Magnets (guides, worksheets, etc.)
- e-Book covers
3. Stock Photos
Canva offers tens of thousands of stock photos. Many are included in the free version, but when you upgrade to Canva Pro you get access to everything.
4. Icons and Graphics
Looking for a cute icon or illustration for your designs. Canva’s got ‘em! You can also find animated stickers for your Instagram stories and video clips.
5. Stock Video & Music
Speaking of video clips, Canva now offers video clips and music that you can add to your mixed-media designs.
